Not often seen in the Knight Rider television shows, K.I.T.T. did indeed have floor mats. If you would like to add a set to your Fanhome 1:8 scale Knight Rider K.I.T.T., you are in luck. Mike Lane Mods creates Floor Mats for our partwork model!

Available in four versions (Black or Tan Brown color and with/without logos), these high-quality fabric mats are specifically cut to fit perfectly into our Interior Floor Panel from Stage 52. They are also designed to complement and lay on top of Mike’s matching Front Carpets mod.

While the show car mats did not have any logos, I love the added touch of the logos and will be using them in Tan Brown on my model.

Installation

Step 1

First, test fit the four Floor Mats to ensure you understand which mat goes where:

Step 2

Starting with the driver’s side front Floor Mat, simply peel the backing paper from the mat and press it down into place.

Be sure the thin vinyl border backing stays with the mat:

Step 3

In the same way, remove the backing paper from the passenger-side front Floor Mat and secure it into place:

Step 4

Finally, secure the two rear Floor Mats down in the same fashion:

Thoughts

This is another one of those mods where you don’t realize you need it until you don’t have it. These Floor Mats bring out a new level of detail to our K.I.T.T. interior and, to me, the logos really catch your eye. I am happy that we’ve installed them as part of our build!
