Roof Windows

Steps 1-2

NOTE: Before we start, I recommend making sure your Doors and Rear Window are taped closed to keep them from flopping around:

Retrieve your Body assembly from the previous stage and carefully turn it upside down on a soft surface. Fit the Central Roof Brace to the inside of the Central Body Structure roof section, orienting it as shown.

There are ‘steps’ at each end of the Roof Brace. The longer ‘step’ (arrow below) should be towards the rear of the car:

Step 3

Secure this Roof Brace to the Body Structure with two (2) QM screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 4

Gently turn your Body assembly upright. Then, fit the pins of the Right Roof Window to the matching slots just right of the Roof Brace.

First, note that the front pins of each Roof Window are shorter than the rear pins:

Knowing this, first slide the shorter front pin of the Right Roof Window into this right-side hole just behind the Windshield, as shown:

Then, lower the shorter rear pin of the Roof Window into the matching rear slot as shown:

Step 5

In the same way, fit the pins of the Left Roof Window to the matching slots just left of the Roof Brace.

The rear pins of both Roof Windows will be secured down in a later stage:

Opening T-Tops on our K.I.T.T. model, nice! Not all screen-used cars had them, but it is great to see them on our model.
