Build

Rear Window

Step 1

Fit the two Hinges to these matching recesses of the Rear Window.

Be sure these Hinges are oriented properly, as shown:

Secure these Hinges to the Window with four (4) AP screws – two on each side.

Do not over-tighten these screws as we do not want to damage the clear plastic:

Step 2

Retrieve your Body assembly from the previous stage. Fit the free end of the Hinges into these matching recesses at the rear edge of the Central Body Structure roof panel, as shown:

Step 3

Secure these ends of the Hinges to the Body Structure with two (2) AM screws – one on each side.

TIP: To make the steps of the next stage easier, you may want to skip installing these screws right now. Check Stage 88 for details.

This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 4

The Rear Window should now be able to open and close:

Steps 5-6

Retrieve your Chassis assembly and place it near the Body Structure. Connect together the plugs of the Pop-Up Headlights Motor cables (both marked ‘mot’) and the Headlight LEDs cables (both marked ‘m’).

Power on the model and press the Dial button on the Wrist Watch. The Headlights should still light as well as raise and lower on each press.

If the Watch does not activate the car’s features, make sure it has a fresh CR2032 battery in it. Just to make this step quicker, I only hooked up the Headlights Motor cable to test it moved correctly (this is why the headlights are not lit in this picture):

Step 7

Disconnect the cables between the Body and Chassis and store the Chassis once again.

Thoughts

There is a small amount of adjustability in the holes of the Hinges for this Rear Window. If it does not align to the Body quite right when closed, you can temporarily loosen the Hinge screws and reposition it as needed.
