Return to the BUILD
“In this issue, the passenger seat backrest is mounted and the seat is attached to the interior floor panel.”
The process in this stage will be identical to the one we followed building the Driver’s Seat in Stage 58.
Materials: The Backrest Front is soft PVC, the Backrest Padding is foam, and the other parts are plastic.

Passenger Seat Backrest
Fit the Backrest Padding inside the center of the Backrest Front.
Two corners of this Padding are cut at an angle. These angled corners should be at the top, as shown:
In the same way, fit the Backrest Frame into the Backrest Front, again resting underneath the tabs.
The soft PVC of the Backrest Front can be spread apart to wrap the tabs around the Frame, as shown:
Secure the upper section of the Backrest Front to the Frame with two (2) MP screws:
Secure the lower section of the Backrest Front to the Frame with five (5) LP screws.
Do not over-tighten these screws as they can twist the Backrest material and make it bulge out of position:
Retrieve your Passenger Seat Base from the previous issue. Fit lower left corner of the Backrest Front assembly to the upright tab of the Seat Adjustment Lever and secure these parts together with one (1) BP screw, as shown:
Fit the Backrest Back to the rear of the Backrest Front, as shown:
Secure this Backrest Back into place with two (2) BP screws:
Firmly press the two pins of the Backrest Back Cover into the matching posts of the Backrest Back, as shown:
On the left side of the Seat, press the two pins of the Seat Attachment into these matching holes of the Backrest and Base.
The thinner pin fits into the upper side hole of the Backrest, while the thicker pin fits into the Base:
Secure the Seat Attachment to the Seat with one (1) BP screw:
Peel the backing paper from the PMD Logo and adhere it to this position on the Backrest Front, as shown:
This Logo sticker should be placed in the center of the seat horizontally and on the middle seam line vertically:
Retrieve your Interior Floor Panel assembly from Stage 58. Fit the four pins and two posts of the Passenger Seat Frame down into the matching holes at this location of the Floor Panel, as shown:
Secure this Frame into place from below with two (2) GM screws.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
With these steps complete, both of our Front Seats are now installed in our model! Both seats should be able to slide forward and back as well as recline a bit.
