“In this issue, you will mount the adjustment mechanism and the frame at the base of the passenger seat.”

The process in this stage will be identical to the one we followed building the Driver’s Seat in Stage 57.

Materials: The Passenger Seat is soft PVC, the Seat Padding is foam, and the other part is plastic.

Passenger Seat Frame and Adjustment Mechanism

Step 1

With the textured sides of these parts facing down, press the large eyelet ring of the Seat Adjustment Lever over the long pin of the Seat Adjustment Mechanism and down onto the cross-shaped ribs, as shown.

When correctly fitted, the cross-shaped ribs provide friction to allow the Lever to rotate a few degrees in each direction, but with a slight resistance:

Step 2

Retrieve your Passenger Seat Base assembly from the previous stage. Press the long pin and tab of the Seat Adjustment Mechanism into the matching holes on the left side of the Passenger Seat, as shown:

Align the rounded tab of the Mechanism to the matching screw hole in the bottom of the Seat Base, and secure the Mechanism to the Seat Base with one (1) BP screw as shown:

Step 3

Fit the two outer posts of the Passenger Seat Frame into the slots of the Passenger Seat Plate.

This Frame can accidentally be installed backwards. To ensure you have the correct positioning, note how the posts of the Frame (circled below) are slightly closer to the ‘front’ end, as seen here:

Similarly, the ‘front’ end of the Plate is curved, as shown here:

Install two (2) DM screws into the Frame from the other side of the Plate.

These flange headed screws are used here to allow the Frame to slide back and forth in the slots. This is also your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Step 4

Fit the Passenger Seat Plate assembly to the bottom of the Passenger Seat Base, matching the shapes of both as shown:

Secure the Plate to the Base with four (4) BP screws:

As we have done this before with the Driver’s Seat, these steps should have felt very familiar.
