Lighting Wiring, Exterior and Interior

NOTE: I have changed the order of these steps from the magazines to be a bit easier to follow.

Step 1

Retrieve your Chassis from the previous stage. Lay the existing wiring along the center of the car to be out of the way:

As a quick reminder reference for the rest of this stage, here is the socket layout of our Circuit Board:

Step 2

Connect the Pop-Up Headlights Motor and Wiring (43C) and Pop-Up Headlight Wires (43D) together – both are marked ‘MOT’:

These plugs have specific polarity and need to be connected correctly – do not force any plugs into their sockets:

Connect the free plug of the Pop-Up Headlight Wires (43D) to socket ‘MOT‘ of the Circuit Board, as shown.

Step 3

Connect the Overhead Console Light Wires 01 (43E) and Overhead Console Light Wires 01 (43F) together – both are marked ‘K’:

Connect the free plug of the Overhead Console Light Wires 01 (43F) to socket ‘K‘ of the Circuit Board, as shown:

Step 4

Connect the Overhead Console Light Wires 02 (43G) and Overhead Console Light Wires 02 (43H) together – both are marked ‘W’:

Connect the free plug of the Overhead Console Light Wires 02 (43H) to socket ‘W‘ of the Circuit Board, as shown:

Step 5

Connect the Left Tail Lights and Wiring (43I) and Right Tail Lights and Wiring (43J) to the split-end plugs of the Tail Lights Wiring (43K) – all three cables are marked with ‘E’:

These plugs are slight different than the others, make sure they are connected correctly:

Connect the free plug of the Tail Lights Wiring (43K) to socket ‘E‘ of the Circuit Board, as shown:

Step 6

Connect the Rear License Plate LED and Wiring (43L) and Rear License Plate Light Wiring (43M) together – both are marked ‘P’:

Connect the free plug of the Rear License Plate Light Wiring (43M) to socket ‘P‘ of the Circuit Board, as shown:

Step 7

Collect the following wires and bring them to the left-rear corner of the Chassis, right behind the Wheel:

  • Tail Lights Wiring (43K marked ‘E’)
  • Overhead Console Light Wires 01 (43F marked ‘K’)
  • Rear License Plate Light Wiring (43M marked ‘P’)
  • Overhead Console Light Wires 02 (43H marked ‘W’)

Clamp these wires down onto the Chassis using the two Cable Grips and two (2) GM screws – one for each as shown.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal. Do not overtighten these screw as it could damage the Grips:

Further secure these wires down using two pieces of the Adhesive Wire Fixing Strips, as shown.

You may find that using small strips of typical electrical tape will secure these wires down a bit better:

Step 8

Connect the Headlight LEDs and Wiring (43A) and Headlight Wires (43B) together – both are marked with a lowercase ‘m’:

Connect the free plug of the Headlight Wires (43B) to socket ‘M‘ of the Circuit Board, as shown:

Thoughts

Wow, that was a lot of wiring – and we are not even done yet! The rest of the main wiring components will arrive in the next stage.
