Speaker Box
Step 1
Retrieve your Chassis from the previous stage and turn it upside down. Fit the Battery Compartment Cover into place by sliding the two tabs into the matching slots and lowering the Cover into place:
Step 2
Turn the Chassis back upright again, then firmly press the two tabs of the Speaker Box onto these matching pins of the Chassis.
The angled shape of the Speaker Box will only allow it to fit flush to the Chassis when oriented correctly, as shown:
Support Brackets
Steps 3-4
Fit the Support Brackets under the sides of the Chassis at these locations, as shown.
The Support Brackets are marked ‘FRONT’ and ‘REAR’ to tell them apart:
These Support Brackets are designed to support our Chassis above your work surface, keep it from rolling, and take the weight off the Wheels and Suspension. As we continue to attach additional components to the Chassis, this will help prevent damage to these parts:
Thoughts
These Support Brackets are fairly common in the automotive partwork world. We don’t want to put undue force on the suspension as we screw things to the Chassis as the build continues. Their use is optional, but recommended.
