Mounting the Radiator

Step 1

Fit the Radiator Rear Panel (with the ridged surface facing out) onto the posts of the Radiator Front Panel.

These panels should fitted together in a specific way. There are semicircular posts on the Radiator Front Panel that match these rounded cutouts of the Radiator Rear Panel:

When pressed together, the parts should sit completely flush, like this:

Step 2

Retrieve your Fan assembly from the previous stage. Fit the Fan assembly onto the posts of the Radiator Rear Panel.

There is a specific way these assemblies fit together. The top of the Radiator Panel can be determined by looking at the four screw holes in the Radiator Front Panel. The two holes closer to the edge are at the top of the assembly, as seen here:

As for the Fan Motor Frame, the top of this assembly can be determined by the orientation of these two pins:

When these two assemblies are fitted together correctly, the top edge of the Fan Motor Frame will stick out a bit:

Secure the Fan Motor assembly to the Rear Panel with two (2) BP screw:

Step 3

Slide this Fan/Radiator assembly into the arms of the Radiator Frame.

Again, the way this is installed is directional. Note the bottom edge of the Fan/Radiator assembly is inserted first, as shown:

Step 4

Flip this Radiator assembly over and secure the first Radiator Front Bar into place with two (2) CP screws, as shown.

This step is where you will find if you assembled the Fan/Radiator parts upside down or not. If the holes line up, you are good to go!

Place the other Radiator Front Bar over the first Bar and secure it into place with two (2) more CP screws:

Step 5

Slide one end of the thicker and shorter Radiator Hose 1 (4.5cm) onto this upper pin of the Fan Surround, as shown:

Slide one end of the thicker and longer Radiator Hose 2 (12cm) onto this lower pin of the Fan Surround, as shown:

Step 6

Retrieve your Chassis assembly from Stage 16. Position the tabs on either side of the Radiator Frame over the matching posts in each Front Wheel Arch, as shown:

Secure the Radiator Frame to the Front Wheel Arches with two (2) EM screws.

This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:

Thoughts

I love all of the attention to detail that went into this Radiator assembly! However, I have a feeling we are going to be fiddling with a lot of finicky hoses down the road. Speaking of which, keep the three unused Fan Wiring parts safely stored until we need them later on.
