Build
Chassis Center Section
Step 1
Fit the Chassis Center Section Cover into the matching opening of the Chassis Center Section, as shown.
If this is a tight fit, you may need to file some of the edges down:
Secure the Chassis Center Section Cover into place with two (2) GM screws.
This is your friendly reminder to try using 3-in-One Oil on all screws going into metal:
Step 2
Flip the Chassis Center Section upside down and fit one of the Brake Line Guides to the post at this location, orienting it as shown:
Secure this Brake Line Guide into place with one (1) GM screw:
Step 3
Fit the other Brake Line Guide to the post at this location on the bottom of the Chassis Center Section as shown, and then secure it into place with one (1) more GM screw:
Step 4
Fit the locating pin of the Fuel Filter into the matching hole at this rear location on the bottom of the Chassis Center Section.
The pin of the Fuel Filter should be inserted into the hole closer to the center of the Chassis, as shown:
Secure the Fuel Filter into place from the other side with one (1) BP screw:
Steps 5-6
Retrieve your Front Axle assembly from the previous stage. Align the top posts of the two Chassis Beams to the matching holes on the underside of the Chassis Center Section, as shown:
Secure the Chassis Beams to the Chassis Center Section from above with four (4) EM screws.
There are two screws at the front edge of the Chassis:
And, two more screws in the middle of the Chassis:
Thoughts
Well, our Knight Rider K.I.T.T. just became a lot bigger with the addition of this Chassis Center Section! As we added mostly metal parts in this stage, the model is gaining weight fast.
